Oh I know I need to find one, Hopefully I'll have one so this winter break I can save some money up for some sticky tires or if a spare $1500 comes my way I can get the suspension I want. Or if I can get a spare $400 I can get a new bike. . . Or I can make enough money so that I'm not eating beans and rice every night. . . At least rent isn't too terrible but it isn't as cheap as other places in my town. I'm not too big on partying either and I'm a whole lot older than most of the people I know at school so far. . .

You'll be fine mate. A strong coffee and plenty of sugar should do the trick, that and some 1990s music on Youtube through some headphones will have you 'busting some moves' and get your heart going. I can feel myself flagging so I'm going to pop up the wooden hills to Bed-fordshire and then head off to the land of knod. All the best for the day ahead mate, don't work too hard or the bosses will expect it all the time. :)

I really want to upgrade the brakes, so they will be useful for track duties. Shouldn't be too much for pads, fluids, and maybe some lines.

I decided to move to a bit more expensive place for rent next year. I am already regretting the descion. Yeah it is next to campus, but I will have less money for my car. Hmmmmm, I guess I need a 24 hour/week job here, along with my fulltime job back home.

Just get a set of Carbotech pads and call it a day. Your brake lines are still new so really the stainless lines won't do much but add some bling in your wells. Just flush the fluid out with the magical ATE gold stuff now that the blue shit is illegal. Don't go mod crazy and spend money on stuff with diminishing returns, unless you don't really care and just want it. It seems like you want to build your car up with purpose though. Some good pads will do so much more than anything else. People say that the carbotechs are DDable, but dust like a motherfucker. Any high performance pad is either going to chew up rotors when cold or dust like a motherfucker. I doubt the carbotech pads would do you any good in the winter out there as they generally need heat but it is just something to think about.

From what I have heard, the braided lines for the brakes doesn't really do too much if you have newish factory lines and will just end up costing you a few hundred and give you the potential for leaks in the future from abrasion if the lines were made cheaply. . . Just my $0.02. Spend your money on tangible performance gains and leave the flashy shit for later.

11/25/2013 at 04:31

Kinja'd!!!0

If I don't have to spend money on a mod, I won't. Save money for other things, right?! So basically, the lines are useless, until later in the car's life. If that is the case, woot woot! Save a hundred bucks. I will admit, I am new to the whole modding thing. So if I sound ignorant. . . it is because I am. Never really paid attention to it until I got this car. Then I understood why people do it. You can make the car exactly how you want it to be.

The car has a few problems with its brakes, like when I drive on my favorite road for 10 to 20 minutes, the fluid feels like it has air bubbles in it, which is actually caused by the master cylinder moving around. The stock pads and rotors are pretty pathetic on a track though, they start to fade after 4 or 5 laps. For right now, I am getting pads, and then rotors later for moar stopping powah.

Get a master cylinder brace, it will cure a lot of pedal issues. You'd be surprised at how much flex the firewall has on most cars. If you want to verify it, have a friend with strong legs get in and push the pedal as hard as they can while you see how far the master gets pushed out.

Get good pads and you can stick with the cheapie centric blank rotors. It has been proven that cross drilled and slotted rotors have no added benefit to braking performance. Just get the best pads you can and then figure out ducting for when you are at the track. Higher temp DOT 4 fluid should also help.

No worries about not knowing stuff already, we all start somewhere. I firmly believe in if you are doing mods they should have a purpose. I'm a function > form guy so I kinda believe in getting the most out of the car for the least dollar. Money should be spent on your suspension, then light weight wheels and sticky tires, then good brake pads and high temp fluid, then power adders. That is my logical progression of modifications that make sense to me. But it is best to go learn the car in its stock form so you can tell what the modifications did and if it had any benefit. Sometimes I am wrong in my thoughts but I dunno, that is where research is your best friend.

I think you will get the most out of getting a tits suspension set up with some decent tires. Spend most of your mod money on the best suspension you can and you won't regret it, just make sure you have a good race shop to help corner weight and align the car up. It might even be beneficial to get a performance alignment on your stock set up.

Just finished watching World War Z. A good movie if you don't really hold it to the source material, because they're fairly different. But a good film, nonetheless.

Anyway, here's my contribution:

I am already planning on getting a brace. Should really help make the car like it isn't going to fall apart after some fun driving.

I am not getting rotors until these ones start to crack, which shouldn't be for a long time, then again I haven't tracked the car. Yet. I am getting pads and brake fluid right now. I think the vented and drilled rotors are more for cooling, although I have heard that drilled rotors tend to crack easier. So I am staying away from them.

I am going to do whatever suits my fancy at the time. The car was really quiet, so I wanted to give it a bit more of a voice. So I got an exhaust. I didn't like the voice, so I got some UEL headers. Now it is time to focus on the brakes, and then wheels, tires and suspension, and then whatever I feel like.

I would like to point out that I am a Function>Form as well, but I like to make the car look good as well. So I will pay a bit more for a splash of style. For example, I could get some RPF1s, but I think they aren't very pretty. . . so I am going to dish out a bit more for some Gram Lights. However, I won't make the car look good, if it ruins the performance.
