I've tried that beer before. I can't remember how much I liked it because I got too buzzed. Speaking of which check out my beerlopnik from Friday if you want to read some good beer comments from opponauts while drinking your beer:

Yeah the Oppo community likes their beer. I was just being a little snobbish to show off my matching goblets. Hahaha. Lagunitas is one of my favorite breweries. And I am now local to Sierra Nevada, I am looking forward to getting brewery only special editions of Bigfoot and the like.

Pretty much all of the Unibroue brews have a really nutty flavor to them, just make sure you pour them into glass and leave a little bit in the bottle so you don't get gnarly yeast farts/shits. . . I am personally partial to Terrible, it is quite delicious.

If you like Belgians, or beers brewed in the Belgian style at least, I would highly recommend anything by Ommegang, they are located in NY and their Abbey Ale was likely the best dubbel I have ever had, and one of my new favorite beers. That being said, I am not sure their stuff will be available if you are now in CA.

Yes I am a fan of Ommegang. Their Dubbel is fantastic. And the Hennepin is one of my favorites. I have been able to find Ommegang around, I haven't really looked for it in my new area yet though. Sierra Nevada is right down the street from me though which is pretty fantastic.

Just had that last night, been trying more Saisons lately, I was impressed. Yea that would be pretty hard to complain about, I have never had a bad beer from them. Their Celebration ale is one of my favorites, and convincing friends to try the Hoptimum never got old.

You should try the Ovila Golden, it is fan-fucking-tastic. I'm looking forward to the brewery only growler fills of Bigfoot. I'm just wondering what they'll have this release. Also i think it is tuesday nights they have cask night where they open a cask of barrel aged what ever they decide. It is pretty epic being by them, and it is also awesome that Sierra Nevada is as cheap as Pabst is at the bars. It makes me happy being able to get a pint of Celebration or the other Chico only releases for $3.00. If you see Old Chico around it is worth a try, I've never seen it outside of Chico though.

I can't have classy glassware, my roomates always fucking break them.

Next time they break a fancy glass, just put the broken glass in their bed. They'll learn soon enough. These goblets are so thick that I think they could handle some abuse but I haven't tested that hypothesis yet. I do enjoy fancy glassware, I need to invest in some tulip glasses and some snifters and some flutes.

Yeah, only shit I have left are a few thick walled cheater pints. I had a bunch of snifters and tulips from beer fests but those fuckers are delicate.

My roomate is the king of destroying anything glass. First time I lived with him out of high school he managed to break a bong and two pipes in the same night. Our housewarming party, people were drinking out of flower vases because he thinned out our drinkware so badly.

Glass in his bed is the only way he'll learn. That and glass in his shoes. You got to teach him a lesson. . . Or make him go out and replace all the shit he's broken.

That sucks, I've never met someone that fucking clumsy. I would only allow them to use metal pieces if I were you. . . Take him back to being in middle school when all you could find were the shitty metal pipes. . .

Oh totally forgot, if you want a bad ass place to find beers and are ever in Costa Mesa, check out High Times Wine cellars. I have spent many hours trying to figure out the perfect 6 pack of 22's to take home with me. Also if you are looking for liquor, they got a selection that is hard to beat.

Another good place to go if you are ever in south county is O'sheas off of avery on the 5. It is a homebrew store but they got an unbelievable selection of rare and hard to find beers and some stuff you've never heard of and some really classy rare beers to cellar. It is worth a venture down there if you need a fix of rare beers. They get shipments of Pliny the Elder in every so often but limit you to one bottle a day and they sell out quickly if you are hankering to try what some claim to be the best IPA out there.

Just some random thoughts. . .

I just moved from Newport this year. Used to go to High Times all the time. Best liquor store in the world.

I don't go to South County much these days but I'll definitely check that place out next time I go there, thanks! I bookmarked this post on my phone so I'll always have microbrew ideas
