They're actually gettin rarer and more expensive because of their notoriety on the tuner market.

Its hard to call it a bad platform for a project. I really want a Terminator someday

I like the Terminator. But I also have dreams of building a higher-revving NA 4.6 with like ~350hp for badass DD duty.

Depends.

Project as in buy stock and upgrade, or buy ruined and fix?

Because 1st gens can be built from nearly scratch now, while this is a fun one to upgrade

Buy stock and upgrade. I don't know nearly enough to buy a crapped out car and fix it.

Driving a friends offroad, red '03 sold me on mustangs. I started the search for mine not long after. Before that day, I was your typical import fan boy but the growl and torque of that Ford v8 was a real revelation. The 4.6 is really an awesome and under appreciated engine. It's pretty maxed out on terms of NA power because the heads and headers are pretty dece straight from the factory, especially on the 3 and 4 valve. However, it shines once you add some positive pressure, and the best thing is they can easily handle 450 at the wheels without forged internals. Just slap on a supercharger and have a blast.

I prefer the term Oppostles.
