I showed those to my father and thanks to you guys, he agreed to let me buy the car under his name.
I sent an email to the guy that sells the car, and I hope he hasn´t already scrapped the car.

Good to hear, the car looks to good to be scrapped and hopefully you can get a lot of years out of it.

Join up on Ultimate Subaru forum, explain immediately that you have a EA82 and get lots of sympathy and advice not to buy one. I say you have to learn somewhere. Friend in college drove one like that forever, until it wasn't fashionable. He was no mechanic, either.
From my understanding, keeping an eye on leaks and temperature on that motor. Overall, if a car has been taken care of, maintenance will keep it alive. It's not their best engine of the 80's but again, once you've figured the basics out, your only enemies will be rust and inertia. 1800c should be a pretty good insurance rate, in theory.

The car is a 1600 GL, not 1800. ( I don't know if that was what you were talking about)
If the car makes it to us (I still got no response back, getting nervous...)
I will definately join a Subaru forum, I think I can learn much from them.

Just guessing..
the numbers represent the engine size, so yes, insurance should be cheap. Speed will not be an issue.

The upshot of buying an old brown subaru sedan is your dad can put it on insurance under his name and if something happens, no one will think a 16 year old willingly bought a brown subaru sedan that's older than they are.
