Went back to my high school to watch them in the football state quarter finals and wound up parking next to this asshat in the Expedition. But little car FTW! Managed to sneak the little green bastard into that spot.

Some fucking people...

Looks like the guy to the right of you didn't do any better, either...

You're like me. "Oh I see you parked like a douche...let me wedge in beside you." LOL

Haha I didn't even notice that. Oh well, freed up room for me

Yep. I always take those spots. I'm sure that guy in the Camry is gonna have a ball getting back in his car. Driving a little old car can be fun, my favorite pastime junior year was sneaking into minuscule parallel parking spots on the side street juniors had to park on.

I know it. I went to Catholic high school so the guy was probably bout half drunk and just whipped it into that spot.

Sadly, (or perhaps because of what I did) the camry was still there when I left. The best thing about parking in a really tight spot, is getting out with someone waiting for the spot. They usually take one look and then drive off. lol.

Oh lovely. Well let's hope the worst he did was park like an idiot.
On a related note, people just didn't seem able to drive today. It was worse than usual.

That's no BMW, poser!

It's ugly out there for sure. Four-way stops are absolute clusterfucks where I'm from. I think it's a result of a greater issue though: nobody gives a shit about cars.
I'm only 19, but am a very focused, aware and legal (except the occasional breach of a speed limit of course) driver, mostly because I've loved cars my whole life. The day I got my learner's permit was the best day of my life because I got to drive, something I'd been looking forward to my whole life. I didn't care about the freedom from my parents or any of that shit, I just was a kid who's goal in life was to drive. I wanted to be skilled, aware, informed and good at it, and I think I have achieved that.
Non-enthusiasts really could give a shit about cars or driving, so they're not that good at it.

Did I say it was? If I drove a Beamer, I probably wouldn't refer to it as "the little green bastard." That there my friend is a beat to shit 1999 Honda Civic.

haha you got me wrong, I was making a joke that the asshat in the Explorer isn't driving a BMW, because that's "expected" from them. I drive an E92 ;)

I'm 22 and I've always been the same way. It was never just about freedom for me, I was just dying to drive. I still remember the first night my mom let me take her Explorer out on my own. I don't really know what I'd do without cars. They're such a major part of my life and driving is just the ultimate expression of that love.
It's the people who don't like driving or view it as just a necessity that ruin the roads for us in the minority.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, gotcha. Missed the recurring joke for a minute. I've always liked the outgoing 3. What're the specs on your's?

I've fallen head over heels since my dad bought the FR-S. He's seen me drive it enough to trust me to take it out on my own quite often. I've started coming home from school most weekends (less party, more study) and usually take a long drive in it every weekend. It's what I look forward too all week. When I drive that car, there's no place I'd rather be, and there's something to be said for that ultimate feeling of happiness. The only thing that would make it better is a little somethin somethin you refered to the other day in the "what do you do to enhance your driving experience" post.

I got the 335i in white with black interior, base model with just the m package. Got a good deal on the last production year with this combo so I snatched it up, love it so far. I had a G35 coupe before this and although the beemer is a better car overall, I would say the G was a better car (value) for the money. I tell my friends that the G was 90% as good for 80% of the price.

Fair. I just always say that for some reason, whether I pull or back in.

Isn't that an expedition, not explorer?

Hahaha I hear ya! It also makes bad drivers more bearable.
I love the Dart, but being geared towards fuel economy it's going to need a few upgrades until I'm really happy with the way it drives. It needs to be louder and the low rolling resistance tires feel squirmy. It was kind of a spontaneous purchase, so the usual excitement leading up to buying it was crammed into one workday. I'd been considering the Fiesta/Focus ST, Toyobaru, and V6 Mustang, but after seeing better renders of the 2015 Mustang I figured I'd wait until the 2016 to get one and I got the Dart as an in between car. I kinda stumbled upon that Dart one day at work while moving cars and I really liked it so I pulled the trigger.
The Focus treated me well and it was like a good friend, but it was almost out of warranty and they're known for tranny problems. Maybe it's the newness, but the Dart feel so much more special. Knowing that the platform is a Giulietta and the engine is shared with the Abarth 500 and MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the car just feels sort of exotic. This has all been forbidden fruit for two decades and now it's back but in a nifty looking Dodge with an old school name. It makes for a cool driving experience even though the Aero is pretty pedestrian. Potenzas and an exhaust should fix the problem areas.
I'm still dying to drive an FR-S. I tried to test drive one a year or so ago, but when they saw the negative equity on the Focus the wouldn't even let me. I told them from the start I was still a year away from being able to buy it but they made me go through a whole process just to say no to a drive in the end. It kinda tainted the experience, but I got to sit in it and it just fit like a glove.

Yep. I done fucked up. They're easy to confuse though.

I've only ridden in a Dart, but have to say I liked the ride and thought the interior was great. I don't talk about my car on here too much, but I do love it. It's the little old Civic pictured above. It's a 99 EX coupe with a manual. I actually like how it drives. The steering is better than racks on most recent cars I've driven, the brakes are great and it's slower than shit, which really isn't a bad thing to me. Driving a car that's all about carrying speed to go fast has definitely made me a better driver. My parents were nice enough to pick that up for me for my 16th, and she's been a great first car. Sittin at 149,000 right now, I'll drive that car till it won't go anymore, which might be a while.
That's shitty about your FR-S experience though. I got to drive a little on the test drive when my dad and I were shopping and was absolutely in love with it from the start. Getting out of the Civic and into the FR-S is a little trying though. I did it today and managed to scare the shit out of myself. Where the Civic likes big input on all fronts, the FR-S is a better, more precise car so I always have a bit of an adjustment period when I get in it, but after that, it's magical.

The 1.4 makes the car IMO even though the power delivery can be lumpy and it doesn't make enough power for the weight of the car. I wouldn't have bought it with either Tigershark engine. The 2.4Ls are decent cruisers, but the 1.4 makes the car feel special compared to the 2.0 and 2.4. I agree on preferring to drive a slow car fast. "Momentum cars" are much more fun on public roads.
You should definitely hold on to the Honda for as long as you can. You only get one first car so you should always cherish your time with it, especially if it treats you well ans you like driving it. My first was a 1988 Bronco that my parents bought for me. It was a money pit and guzzled gas, but I loved that truck and I've still never felt the same way about any of my other cars. When I started commuting to college (for that lone semester) , the cost of keeping gas in the tank became too much so we sold it and bought an Altima that ended up being another money pit and a huge hunk of shit. I talked to the guy who bought the Bronco a few months aftee we sold it and he said the tranny went a week after he bought it. I really lucked out on that one but I still wish I had her, even if she was just taking up space in the driveway. The thought of her being junked, left to rot, totaled...it still bothers me.
