I finally found a pretty cheap, nice road bike!

It's a Quintana Roo Trueno (I had never heard of the brand, but at least the name makes you feel like Takumi). Rides really nicely, and I got a good deal; it has some nice components, too.

A picture from a GIS:

It doesn't have the extra handles in front or armrests.

If I'm correct, Quintana Roo make bikes for triathlons (slightly different geometry) and the components are a mix of shimano tiagra, and 105 components. Maybe FSA cranks or FSA chainrings. Most likely with Tektro brakes. Entry level tri bike, not bad.

That's what I've read—while I haven't looked up the differences, I have heard they have slightly different geometry. You are spot on with the components! Thanks for the info. It's pretty much as basic as they come, but it suits my needs.

One must get are clips. The power transfer is much greater than platform pedals.

Step one, take reflectors off. Step two, enjoy!

I probably will in the future, but for now I will stick with platforms and rat traps because I'll be riding it to and from school until I finally find a decent sub-$3000 car on CL. Winters in my area are generally too cold for cycling, too.

I normally would consider Saskatoon too cold for winter, but a co-worker commutes to work on his bike through all four seasons. He even has a bike with what appear to be at least 5" wide tires! If it wasn't for the off-set spokes to make room for the disc brakes, they'd looke like Moto-X tires.

And he only resorts to taking a cab at -40C. Dude's not right in the head.

Wow, that sounds painfully cold. I guess I have no reason to complain, above 20 degree winters and all.

Yeah, 20F winters? No sympathy here, bro. :-p

I don't mind the cold nearly as much as most people around here, so it's funny to see people go crazy over a 25F day. I could never live in Saskatoon, though.
