So, my brother & fam are moving to Japan for a bit so they just bought this -

1999 Corolla BZ Touring Wagon. 4AGE 20V engine, 6 speed manual...15k KM (yes, fifteen thousand KILOMETERS on a 14 year old car). If only Toyota had brought such fun and funky products to the US over the last 2 decades maybe they wouldn't have been seen as being so beige-y

Also, check out the funky interior fabrics!

Stop giving me reasons to move to Japan. I have no monies to do it, and I'd stick out like a dick costume at a business convention there, everywhere. If I move there someday and get murdered by the locals, it'll be your fault!

Are those ITBs?!?! And Fun fact...Toyota is still using that exact same steering wheel in their corollas.

...depends on what ITBs are, lol? :)

I actually remember that wheel from a Corolla my parents had when I was a kid too...and honestly I think it's great. Could be a bit chunkier (it's a corolla after all, though), but nice and simple just how I like it.

Used cars do tend to run really cheap there though (and also, cars are maintained really well, so even if its old it's probably super clean and has really low mileage...case in point above)...so maybe you'll be saving money in the long-run? :)

Individual throttle bodies = each intake port has it's own throttle instead of one for the whole intake. This is a fairly old car, and I don't see one big throttle on the intake manifold. So...yeah. Looks like this thing has ITBs. +10 cool points for the car.

...and -1000 cool points to toyota for keeping that to themselves over there.

oh whoops, yup i didn't notice that! For some reason I was thinking you were talking about wheels when you said ITBs (probably because of plural phrasing).

All 20 Valve 4A-GE engines came with ITBs.

Yep, all 20V 4A-GE engines came with ITBs from the factory.

Did not know that. What did we get the 20v 4A-GE in over here?

I do not believe we got the 20V 4A-GE in anything over here. They were mainly used in the E100 and E110 series Corollas and Sprinters, as well as the Carina in Japan. The only 20Vs over here are ones that were imported to be swapped into older Corollas and other Toyota products.

"Wow," I'd say, "That's sik."

"But I thought you hated Corollas," everybody I know who doesn't know anything about cars would say.

"I do hate Corollas." I'd reply, " Except this one ."

Can they help you import this and make it part of the Oppo Reality Garage?
