I think we can all agree that the GM J-Body was not a very good car. However, there is one version that could qualify as a good car: the Z24.
Particularly, the 1988-90 Z24. It looked really good (for a Cavalier), especially in two tone Medium Blue Metallic/Medium Gray Metallic paint. I seem to be the only one that likes the stock wheels, however. The 2.8L V6 gave it some performance, enough to keep up with V6 Camaros of the day. It sounded pretty good, too.
My aunt had one for ~18 years, and it never skipped a beat. I have fond memories of it, even though it is just a special Cavalier.
What is your favorite version of a terrible car?

Lots of good bad cars to choose from...
Dodge Spirit RT
Suzuki Swift GTI
Vauxhall Chevette HS
MG Metro 6R4
I'd gladly drive any of them

The Lada Niva has some Fiat 124 DNA, and while the terribleness of a Fiat 124 is subject to some opinion, I love these things.

dude, there was a guy on the Hot Rod Power Tour that had not one, but TWO Z24s immaculately restored on the Tour. One was his, one was...his parents.

This is the 1978 Ford LTD II. Horrible in any possible way.
On the other hand, if you are handy with a jigsaw, look at what fabulous beast you can create in an evening :

You didn't need a jigsaw to create that masterpiece, you could buy that from the factory and they can be found repetitively plentifully on craigslist too. its a 1978 ford Ranchero

Not my favourite, but the favourite of snarky Jalopnik commenters who know the car you just bought could have been a V6 Mustang.
But, really, with the new IRS Fusion Coupe coming down the pipe, this pig-in-lipstick is the best version of a tired platform.

Another contender: The AMC Spirit AMX. Fender flare, louvers, spoiler, decals everywhere, anemic V8, this car got it all!
