Why not both?

I'm not a fan of the 'verts but that might be a NP on the e30, depending on the condition as the ad is not very informative.
Don't know much about the Volvos but it's definitely cheap enough. Certainly enough to make me wonder how "minimal" that rust is and what else it needs apart from an e-brake cable. Though if the tires are pretty much new, you could probably sell them and recoup a good portion of the cost of the whole car, should that become necessary.

From a BMW guy, THE VOLVO. Say no to Bathtubs.

The BMW has a stick and many fewer miles (or in this case kilometers). However, it is considerably more expensive... that said, Volvos have never really been my thing and quite frankly this particular example is ugly enough to justify its price.
My vote is with the BMW.

I'd go with the volvo. Sure, the slushbox sucks, but it's fairly sturdy. Also you can boost the shit out of those engines, and at that price, why not?

It's not minimal at all, judging from this picture.

Those are two totally different cars but I am going with the e30. I have an '87 e30 vert and that is a pretty good price. The only worry would be the top, and as long as its in good shape that is the pick. More power, more fun to drive and more importantly MANUAL.
