My last thread was a simply question of what numbers we should use. That didn't work out since most people simply responded with their mileage anyway.
So, I will just decide,
I want one figure per response
, your fuel mileage in:
Miles per US Gallon (US-MPG), this number should be your combined, hand-calculated or dash-calculated number, for your most frequently driven car.
So: US-MPG-COMBINED (by dash or by hand)
I thank you all for your efforts thus far, but am unfortunately going to have to ignore any response I've had so far, there is to much inconsistency in them for me to get it into a spreadsheet.
For anyone that needs to convert from UKMPG or Liters/100KM or Something Else, just google it, for instance: 10 liters per 100km in mpg, will spit out the number you need.

I have two equally-driven vehicles, so I will report two numbers
Two. That's one more than what you want, but you will get it. Two will be the number you will receive, no more, no less. Two shalt be the number thou shalt receive, and the number of the receiving shalt be two. Three shalt thou not receive, neither receivest thou one, excepting that thou then proceed to two. Three is right out.
I forgot what I was doing here.

Window sticker says 21/25, but I've hand-calculated anywhere from 23.43-27.18 straight city driving, and haven't driven on the highway enough to affect that number.
And yes I save the numbers after every fill-up onto my phone. And yes I am OCD as shit

2013 Honda Civic LX Sedan Automatic... rated at 32 average; I get 23.8 according to my dash (and it has been holding steady for the past week or so)... about 4 under city rating. But I doubt my answer is worth a lot becuase I haven't yet taken it on the highway. Short 2 mile city stints is all it knows.

24. I do have an LPG conversion though so I don't use gasoline anymore, which has affected fuel economy negatively. With gasoline it would've been 30 or so.

My DD 2001 VW Jetta TDi returns 40 mpg on every tank of fuel, this is the actual, paper and pencil calculated mpg. I have a Scangauge connected to my car and the reading is always showing 28 - 30 average mpg but the pencil doesn't lie. I cannot complain about the fuel economy when my speedometer needle is often pointed at 80 mph for half of the daily 140 mile commute.

As of 10/03/2013 I had driven the older of my two Miatas, a '99, 154,403 miles, with a total gas consumption (as per the reading on the pump) of 5,565.903 gallons, for an average of 27.74 MPG. Including all expenses this has cost me a remarkably low average of $0.272 per mile. Meanwhile my newer Miata, an '04, has gone 12,161 miles while burning 442.485 gallons of gas for an average of 27.48 MPG. What do you mean, "obsessive-compulsive disorder"? My obsessive compulsions are very, very orderly - neat, precise, squared-off corners abound. And yes, I also know those are unrealistically high numbers of decimal places; in fact I don't know my actual gas usage to one part in five million!

That 15.8 in your Silverado is pretty good. I have a mileage book in my work truck, an '05 Silverado 2500, and it averages about 11 MPG.
![]() 11/25/2013 at 17:08 |

Well, a Scangauge doesn't lie either, so we have to assume some VAG America employee is sneaking into your driveway when you're asleep at night and putting a couple-three gallons extra into your tank to deceive you, so you'll run around telling all your friends what terrific mileage you get and maybe they'll buy a TDI too...
