I got a 131 responses to the oppo age survey and got some fun numbers out of it! Now I would like to do another one, since I got quite a bit of positive feedback.

I was thinking fuel efficiency. First let's think about this, should we do EPA combined mileage number, or should we go with our hand calculated and/or dash calculated numbers?

Bonus: Whoever can guess what the numbers to this sticker belong to will win some internets

It would be super fun to do both. What we should get, and what we do. See if our manual transmissions really save us gas! The EPA estimates at 17/25. I get about 18.5/26 right now, though I am leaving out the stop+go traffic I come home in every day. Also, some leaks on the outside of the injectors...

Well the sticker is rather reminiscent of a 5.9 equipped Dodge Ram 1500 4x4

I'd say go for actual fuel economy as reported by the Opponauts.

My guess on the sticker: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

My primary vehicle EPA City: 17

Highway: 21

Combined: 19

Actual (as per the ecu): 21.4

31 highway (US gallon)

I've seen a worst average of 19mpg (driving in DC) and a best of 28mpg (my commute from Bmore to DC). I'm usually hitting 28mpg every week but I also have a Dinan software upgrade.

Ford F-150 4X4 11 city, 14 highway. That sticker probably goes to a truck.

I get about 22 mpg when I do a mix of driving with my commute being mostly highway now I think I get closer to 25-28.

13.8 according to the dash display, or about 9.2 on E85.

And I'd guess that sticker is a Raptor.

Dart Aero 6mt

EPA: 28/41/32

Dashboard: 25.1 (heavy foot and not much highway driving, but I can get much better out of it if I wanted to)

As for the sticker, it has to be an HD truck.

And for the record, since I clearly missed the post, I'm a 22 year old male.

I'll guess that the sticker is from a Raptor. As for my mileage:

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

And my actual tracked mileages using GasCubby are:

F-150 (mileage over 11798 miles)
Average: 15.90
Minimum: 10.47
Maximum: 20.91

STi (mileage over 4510 miles)
Average: 19.09
Minimum: 16.98
Maximum: 21.96

Miles driven reflect when I got the mileage app and included some blank spots. Actual miles driven are around 55k for the STi and 20k for the F-150.

F-250 doesn't need to report mileage. Anything over 8,000 pounds GVWR is exempt. (Somewhere around 8,000 lbs GVWR, if I remember correctly.)

Oh yes. That's a good point. I forgot about that. That's just what my parents F-250 gets, so I took a guess.

I remembered this because a couple weeks ago I walked through the Ford lot and was confused for a second when the window stickers on the F-250's didn't have numbers on them. Then I got close enough to see the fine print disclaimer.

I guess we are using the vehicle we used more often. Given that, while to and from Houston, San Antonio, and COTA last weekend, my 1999 C5 Avant Quattro managed

17.3 city

27.5 hwy

My car was never rated by your EPA, because it was not offered in the US of A. It is a '06 Merc CLK 280 manual. Factory release specs put it at 13l/100km(18 MPG) for urban and 7l/100km highway(33 MPG). With my car computer and brain calculation, I am getting those 18 MPG urban, but my best highway is around 9/100(26 MPG). Only once with a constant speed of 80km/h, I managed 8/100 (29 MPG), highway.

Window sticker says 21/25, but I've hand-calculated anywhere from 23.43-27.18 straight city driving, and haven't driven on the highway enough to affect that number.

And yes I save the numbers after every fill-up onto my phone. And yes I am OCD as shit.

combined largely has to do with how you calculate percentage of city vs hwy.

around 50% for me is 16mpg

It was a Ford Raptor ...and OMG! I was just asking which way we should go, but instead got inundated with numbers! So many numbers! I have half a mind to ignore all of them, because we didn't really decide how to do this yet, haha.

I'm thinking self-reported MPG's from your most frequently driven car.

And my actual mileage is 30 in the city and a minimum of 45 on the freeway.

2002 Ranger, in its heaviest form, with the biggest engine they came with (4wd extended cab, 4.0l v6)

Kinja'd!!!

My real mileage depends heavily on the season. In the summer, I average 18ish, in the winter more like 13ish. Mostly due to being home in the summer (more highway) and being at school in the city in the winter (way more city travel).
My best ever was 18.9, my worst was 11.2
