I have the 2014 Mazda 6 Touring for review this week. I really like the new shape..
And I really like this part..
But not a big fan of this. The 2.5 just works too hard to really motivate the car. Can't wait for the diesel next year, with its 310lb-ft.

Whenever I see these dimples on the Skyactiv covers, I instantly think about engine cupholders..

As I've mentioned several times, my major criticism with this car is the 2.5 motor as well. It really needs the oil-burner or a gas turbo-4

Brilliant. Where are you supposed to put your beer when changing a belt? Those Mazda guys think of everything ..

What's the NVH like? My only real complaint I had with my 06 was that they seemed to skimp on sound deadening materials.

It's a pretty smooth running engine until you wind it to the moon, then it gets a bit raspy. As far as sound deadening, the doors have that hollow spam-can feel when you close them, which I thought they'd progressed beyond. Still, road noise is not a big issue with this car. My only other observations so far are the odd grouping of options on this press car. Keyless ignition, but not keyless entry. No nav system, even though there's a Nav button on the radio and on the console controller. My take so far: it's a nice car but I can't wait for the diesel. MSRP is just over $23k; hopefully the diesel will come in around 25-ish to compete with the Jetta TDI.

The GT I drove last month seemed more than adequate. I was very entertained by all the toys and gizmos.

The GT I drove had quite a lot of wind noise around the rear windows, and tire noise with the 19"s.
