F1 is getting boring. Vettel and Red Bull Racing dominate with few competitors. I think if VW shifts their massive financial bulk into an F1 team it could be extremely successful. I know Audi and Porsche already have Le Mans teams, which probably takes priority. (Duh) Anyway, I really dont have many points that make me think they should join, could Oppo help me? Formula One needs more constructors. Even if they just supplied engines, that would be awesome. But if you look at companies like Mercedes for example: Good F1 team. No major Sportscar competitors. Audi: Great Le Mans team. No F1 team. But with VW's moola they could definitely afford a F1 team.
So what do you think Oppo?

Only if they race as Skota.

I think in this country, the US of A, the marketing of it all doesn't wash. How many people say, oooh let me go buy a CLA because racecar DNA. Wonder how Infiniti's campaign went. As much as I would like to see and support the hell out of VAG even being an engine supplier, I don't think it is going to pass the bean counters. Still in flux finding a team/driver to support with BMW and Kubica done for some years, and Kimi going to fuckrari, so trust me, I am pulling for this.

And Renault could come back as Dacia just to troll people

Jaguar
Lamborghini
BMW
Toyota
It would be cool to see a VW Group car run. GM, Nissan, and many other giant brands as well :]

They're already doing that racing as Lotus.

Sadly true, but they could do it for Skoda or Seat like Sweden said. I mean, just for fu... No you make an excellent point but do Skodas sell well in Europe?

VW has 4 brands that could make an entry in F1: Audi, Porsche, Bentley and - my favourite - Bugatti.
I would say that only Porsche is a realistic one as they have got the ressources to become a engine supplier. Audi will likely stay in Le Mans because it is the safer series to win.

VW already has the ingredients needed for a much better series than formula one. All you need are two things.
1) Take a bunch of formula Vee racers with more power via their other formula racers. Or basically this:
plus the engine from this:
2) Have people who are really skilled at trackmania make the courses
Then you just sit back and enjoy the action. I would watch the FUCK out of that.

I think it was said some time ago that if VAG were to enter F1 they would probably use the Bentley brand. Their reasoning being that Audi/Porsche are already too busy dominating the sportscar world, Bugatti while having a rich racing history essentially doesn't sell enough cars (because they are so exclusive), leaving Bentley who also has a rich racing history and could use F1 to boost its brand among the jet-set crowd

I don't understand why VW would pit two of its own brands in a category, but who cares. At least we'll have AussieGrit racing there too. I would've put Audi back at Rally to display QUATTRO because its the only category (I can think of) that allows all-wheel drive. Porsche is fine at LeMans, but for F1, we need Lamborghini back. It would be great to have the Italians duking it out on track as well.

I would just like to say that I love Vag.

This was the question Porsche had before they made their decision - To go into F1 or WEC. They picked WEC because they didn't see F1 being good enough or relevant to their interests. I don't think VAG will encourage any of the other brands going into motorsport at that level.

Oh yes I think Audi needs to join rallying for sure. Demonstrate their superior quattro power.
