I know just enough about Photoshop Elements to be dangerous, and I know many of you know much more than I do. I'm wondering if somebody can help me with something.
I've got 73 images that I have edited in PSE, and I want to use PSE to rename the batch. I thought I had the Process Multiple Files dialog figured out. I selected the source files, the destination, the batch rename, and hit process. It renames the files correctly, but it also reduces the files down to about 200k or less. I have selected no resizing, though I tried a second time with file resizing chosen at 100% and it did the same thing. Am I missing something?

to me it looks like all you have it set to do is rename.

That's what I thought. If I can't get it figured out, I'll be renaming them one at a time. :-/

Out of left field...I'd say use Name Wiz . A simple, small, easy to find program with lots of freedom. Used it since '97.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I could do it fairly easily in iPhoto, but I've cut the cord to that program, and I don't want to run my images through it.

Try checking the "Resize Images" box, set width and height to 100% and resolution to whatever the pictures are. Also play around with the "File Type" dialog and see if any of the settings there help.

I did try it with the Resize set to 100% and it still shrunk them. I'm stumped.

Try the same thing but uncheck Constrain Proportions, maybe?

You are doing it right.
Quit the program and try again. Other than that, I got nothin..

Good to know. Actually, I ended up following others' advice and downloaded a free app that did the rename for me.
Thanks.

I just ran into this with my Elements. Out of the blue, it would process each file, but leave them the same size.
I had them set to replace the existing files within the same directory. (wanted to make them all the same width) and it kept failing.
I selected another destination directory, then switched it back. I was prompted for "Replace files?" and I answered yes. Worked afterwards.

I can't believe you remembered this post. I just had to do a batch rename the other day, and I used a standalone app to do it. But I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks.

It was the first thing I thought of when I found the files weren't resizing. I did it again, and remembered you were experiencing the same thing.
I can't remember what night next week we have dinner with Mrs McMike's co-workers, but I can remember this?

I don't even bother trying to remember things. I just tell my wife to remind me.

Exactly. With my wife taking care of all the day-to-day reminders, it leaves my brain wide open for the important things.
Like other people's three month old PSE multiple file processing issues on a car blog.
