I have a very good friend who is really into Durants. For Christmas I was hoping I could get a metal sign made for him since the originals are thousands of dollars now. There is a shop nearby that will make it, but tells me I need a better 16"x 12" picture that can just be printed on the sign. Can anyone on here help me make this picture usable or find a better version of it?

I googled Durant and forgot to add "car" at the end. I don't know what I expected.

I cut vinyl, and that picture looks usable to me. With a better picture it would be easier. Me thinks they are being lazy.
Just curious, what are they charging you?

Well they tell me it can be done, but it will look terrible. $35 quote.

Find a high school or college art student and give them $50 to recreate that as a vector image. The sign shop just doesn't want to take the time to do it themselves and you don't want to pay them for the couple of hours of work they'd have in it.

Oh wow, a hell of a lot better than I can do. I really appreciate the effort!

thanks.. if you really want a clean version after the more competent efforts, I can certainly straighten it out for proper print-ready stuff. This is about the stage I'd be feeding it into illustrator to clean it up. Figured I'd stop a moment and do other things :)

Anything more you could do would be great!

I can send it to you in a file format if need be.
I have a small vinyl cutting operation, and I could cut it for you and I'd be cheaper than who your using. But the shipping will eat up the difference in price from the people your using where you live.
Anyways, glad to help.
