.....and that's when Alex lost the last vestiges of his sanity, your honor. I'm not really sure why he chose to go running down the street wearing nothing but an aluminum foil hat, but I'm fairly confident that this was the trigger event.
Speaking of nuts, have you watched any of Kill la Kill? I think those guys may have managed to make a show more insane than their last effort, Gurren Lagann.

Well I don't think it could be any worse than End of Evangelion. Though I understand what happened in all of Evangelion, Lain though.....
I haven't gotten a chance to see the newest two episodes of Kill La Kill yet but I really have enjoyed what I've seen.

Here's what to do if your GF approaches you with Scissors in her hand and her face is like that.
Oh, and while I'm here...
Oh man. This show. Oh maaaaan does it ever have it's hooks in me. Goddamnit, it's the Velma thing all over again. I was just starting to recover from that, you bastards!

I watched a couple episodes of Beyond the Boundary and I liked what I saw. I mean it's not the best story but dear god! Kyoto can animate!

To be fair, there isn't much that can hold a candle to the insanity that is End of Evangelion. As for Lain, I'm not sure anyone really understands all of it, including the creator.
For more sane fare I've watched recently, Silver Spoon is a great slice of life piece from Hiromu Ararkawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), and I'm also enjoying Arpeggio of Blue Steel. I'd include Durarara in there too, but I'm not sure it entirely counts as sane, at the very least is has a severe case of ADD, but it's a great show as well regardless.

I really enjoyed Silver Spoon though I didn't know it was from the same woman that made FMA. I haven't seen Arpeggio or even heard of it, how did you like it? I really liked Durarara as well, it would be much higher on the list if they just would of not focused on the three kids.
I've been watching Monster which is absolutely A-FUCKING MAZING!

Monster is one I've been curious about, but haven't gotten around to watching. Arpeggio is one that popped up on crunchy roll and I got hooked on. If you enjoy naval warfare with a scifi twist it's a fun romp. It's nothing ground breaking or anything, but it's a fun watch. I'd give it a 7/10, I'll watch it on crunchyroll, but I wouldn't buy the dvd's to watch it over an over again. It's only on ep 5 or 6 so playing catch up would be pretty easy if you care about watching it as it comes out.

Well Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt was also thrown in there between Gurren and Kill la kill. All of his work is pretty excellent though.

Lain is the anime that got me into anime. I've loved the stuff that ABe has worked on. I can remember when I was younger tracking down the individual DVDs and they were selling for about 20 dollars a pop.
