Hello all! I was heading through a parking lot in China and spotted this magnificient creature! I didn't even know VW made this supprisingly. It is I think a 2008 Passat R36 wagon. I have never seen one and think this is one cool car for sure.
Wagon - check!
Big brakes - check!
German - check!
Roof rack - check!
I did look inside and it was an auto which I expected but I still think this thing is badass. Any Opponauts have one of these?

I've seen very few of them ... R36s, that is, and I only ever saw one wagon in the wild. While I can appreciate the idea of a fast Passat, you might just as well buy an S4 Avant for a little more go in what's structurally the same car.

The R36 is actually a much tamer car ... that said, some people stuffed the R36's engine into a Golf body and added turbos. That shit goes. :'D

I believe R36 Passats had the regular 3.6L engine with a small hp boost (from maybe 280 to 300), so they were mostly appearance and suspension packages.

Whats the 3.6L? I don't know if we got that in the US.

The regular 3.6L V6 (~280 hp) was the regular engine for the Touraeg. It was also available in the last-gen Passat and Passat CC as the higher-end engine, paired with the 4Motion AWD system, while the base 2.0T Passats generally had FWD.

oh okay, it sounds like we did get those. I'm only used to hearing about the 1.8's, 2.0's, 2.5's and R32's. Or the W engines
