Kinja'd!!!

Today I took it into the garage and up on the lift to inspect it and see what needed to be done to get it to "road legal" specs. I was really surprised over how little rust there was on it and the undercarriage is almost in perfect shape. However there were a few things that needed sorting out.

Kinja'd!!!

I felt like the elephant in the room was the exhaust system, which was hanging like crazy and was also rusty. Oh and did I mention that half of it was non-existent and were made out of one of them cheapo flexpipes...

Kinja'd!!!

Handbrake is also fucked up but luckily it is a wire issue and there's nothing wrong with the brakes.

Kinja'd!!!

The exhaust is now dropped and tomorrow I will begin making a new one out of my old 2" system from the Firebird. Anything it takes to save money!

Errh, let's see what else did I fix... Oh yeah!, just about none of the "cool" electronics (read pop-ups) were working, so I had a little looksy at the fusebox. None of them were in their right spot and half of them was burned! YEEESSS! Relocated and replaced them, and what do ya know? I've got fucking working pop-ups now!!! This is truly a highlight of my life!

Things left to do before it can get it's Shaken (japanese for inspection (JDM yo!));

Fix the exhaust

Fix the handbrake

Refurbish brakes

I think that's about it... And I'm also gonna replace the oil and filter tomorrow, which is currently pitch black... Aiming to be DD it at the end of the week.

Aaaaand I just learned that the 180ZX was the S12's name in Sweden. Cool!

Hehe, I'll give you a heads up when time comes to sell it...

Otherwise you can always buy this; http://www.blocket.se/stockholm/Niss… and park it in the nearest ditch or something.

For no reason whatsoever it would seem, since it doesn't even have anything to do with Nissan's Z cars!

The way I'm looking at it; it was named Sylvia in the rest of Europe but since the queen of Sweden is also named Sylvia, Nissan probably didn't think it would be a name fit for sports car, or something like that.

Nice to see another S12 owner on here. So jealous of your 80's spoiler.

Yeeeeaaaaah too bad Nissan decided to make them out of some crappy foam or something. Not that I don't like the design of it, but unfortunately (as you can kinda see) it's gonna have to go.

That's likely the reason. Funny enough, that generation of Silvia shared more with the Z than any other generation did, since it was the first (and only, I believe) generation where you could get the same engine in the Z and the Silvia. Suspension, differentials, etc. were all about the same too.
