I just finished watching this. It was very interesting and rather eye opening. Over 5000 cases of arson per year, the parks are left untended, 80,000 abandoned building, entire skyscrapers being sold for only 5 million... You read about it, but seeing it is something else. They went through the Packard plant as well. I think it's worth the 43 minutes. Makes a good Sunday Matinée

I saw this the other day too. Good episode. Looks like amongst the shit hole exterior, there's a handful of gems of good eats around

Ya, the BBQ in the guys yard looked awesome. This episode, and the one in Japan were very good.

I heard about it from facebook and watched it only knowing it was called "part unknown: Detroit" and was disappointed.

Firstly because it was mostly about food, I didn't know he was a chef. Secondly because in the first 5 minutes he said "Detroiters hate it when you only show ruin porn" .... Well how about I only show ruin porn for the next 55 minutes then.

Sincerely,

A Detroit resident

I would have been curious to see parts of Detroit that were doing well. I think it would have rounded out the episode. Still, overall I enjoyed it.

Yea ... midtown is actually doing semi-well and there are a lot of good places to eat I would of loved to see something I could recognize. So I'll agree with that.
