Chicago NW burbs here - we had some fairly hard rain today and it was blustery, but it's quiet now - I thought that was supposed to be the end of it??
Also have some relatives in central OH, but they'll know to hunker in the bunker as usual.

and I'm just in the outer portion of the storm I don't understand why they decided to exclude Canada from the map.

The National Weather Service (and by extension, the SPC) act to protect life and property in the US through accurate forecasting of meteorological and hydrological events. Canada's got their own weather service to do the same for Canada.

Me: East Tennessee, (Just north of Knoxville). Thunderstorms, heavy fog, and a full moon.
Perfect weather for horror films, *cough*disposing bodies*cough*, roadway crashes, and other stuff.

That was from the warm front associated with the same surface low that will produce the action tomorrow. This is from 3pm today. The warm front passed through Chicago and produced rain, the cold front stretching through Iowa and Kansas City is what will produce the severe weather tomorrow.

Pardon my ignorance but what changed? These graphics tell me expect bad things but I honestly have no friggen idea what I'm looking at.

Good thing I live on the Ohio river. Nah, not too bad here in southeastern Ohio.

Not what I'm hearing from my weather forecasting friend. We're still getting the wind, if not the tornadoes as much.

It's just wet where I'm at.

I live in SE Ohio on the river as well - just north of Marietta and I-77. With all the rain - I suspect we'll see trees fall when the wind arrives. I am guessing power outages in quite a few places - so I went ahead and primed up the generator as a precaution.

I live in SE Ohio and will be traveling from Marietta Ohio up to Washington Pa tomorrow. I'm hoping it's a bust as well - I really hate driving in storms.

I'm just off of 35 outside of Gallipolis. Still just wet outside here.

Gotcha, well I'm getting it pretty bad here in the NW region of Michigan's lower peninsula. http://imgur.com/a/vRtUN it's bad enough that I decided to wait until tomorrow to drive down state, the flooding on the rural roads around here concerns me, not to mention it's heavily wooded. Plus, ya know, it was a good excuse to stay at the vacation house for a little longer!

Good idea. My sister-in-law left MI this morning and got stuck in Hammond, IN to wait it out.

I'm always cautious when it comes to that kind of stuff, it doesn't make sense to risk injury or worse for what amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of things. And I can be pretty productive from here tomorrow morning, and visit clients on my way down state so it really was a no-brainer. I have seen some crazy Michigan weather this week... snow showers in Grand Rapids on monday, 14 inches of snow (!?!) on the ground in Stevensville, MI (Benton Harbor area) on tuesday, 60mph+ wind gusts in Traverse city on Wednesday/Thursday, 55 degrees and sunny on Friday in Harbor Springs (I got in 9-holes of golf!), and now this... Michigan weather is certainly interesting and incredibly diverse... Oh, and they're predicating snow for this part of the state (Boyne Highlands resort if you're familiar with the area) that can total 6"+ depending on when it turns from rain to snow tomorrow.
Anywho, here's to hoping your sister-in-law gets home safely!

I'm in Northern Kentucky, maybe 2 miles south of Cincinnati and all we got was a lot of rain and heavy winds. I think we had a tornado watch at some point but I'm not too sure about it.

It didn't do much up here. We did have a few strong gusts of wind.. but nothing to bad.... well... other than the fact that we'll be picking up a bunch more leaves. I did notice damage the further up rt7 I went toward Wheeling WV the other day.

I just wish it would warm up ten degrees. I'm working up in Cambridge this week and next out of OU in Athens, this cold weather kinda blows when there's no heat in a building.

I completely agree - I'm ready for spring already. Cold weather and snow are only fun when your a kid and resilient to low temps lol. Plus they cancelled school with it lol. However, i'm yet to find a job that offers the same winter scheduling lol.

I'm only nineteen and I can handle cold but, if my hands are cold, it's hard to install the telecommunications in a building. My schedule fluctuates pretty rarely. It's typically Monday-Friday 8-5. Right now I'm basically working 5am-7pm. Up at four and on the road by five to Athens, then from Athens up to Cambridge. Such a lovely thing.
