Prelude 4WS in action!

Prelude? and I thought that only worked at speed or can you bypass that.

Why are there two stages?
Like the rear wheel shimmies a bit.

Always on. Its mechanical! No limit. 4th gens may have a limite beyond like 90mph but ive found no evidence to support that as everyone seems to love 4ws for parking and for changing lanes at 80mph.

At speed, the rear wheels steer the same direction as the fronts, for better handling and lane changing

When stopped, and perhaps at low speeds, they turn the opposite direction for easy parking, and smaller turning radius.

check my edit. in short, little input, wheels move in same direction. Lots of input, rear wheels turn opposite to decrease turning radius. Its all based on steering wheel position.

You might be confusing that with nissan 240sx and related silvia. That only works at like 80km/h and over.

Yah, but honda did this 25 years ago... I dont know why gmc even bothered because all they had to do was look at honda to see that the world wasnt ready for 4ws...

GMC was 4WD 4WS at slow speeds for maneuvering in parking lots.

It was also available on some of Mazda's cars in the late 80's/early 90's. Some active, some passive.
