Yup. These are standard fare for the Indian Army, but they plan to end their induction by 2017 and then introduce either the Tata Safari or Mahindra Scorpio slowly, through a period of 15-20 years. The other commonly used Indian army vehicle is the Mahindra Thar (looks just like a Jeep knockoff, except it is actually pretty legit) and the Force Gurkha, which is used for domestic police and government stuff.
Personally, I think the Scorpio is pretty good (better than any Tata), but we'll have to see.
