I have no other words. Ford needs to make this happen in NA.

Because wagon. Joe driver in North America doesn't like wagons. All that space in the back, plus utility, good looks, and practicality scares them. They would rather have a CUV.

... not enough people would buy it to make it worth bringing over.

Dammit.

...because USA-ians insist on paying junk-car prices for new cars, so you only get the junk-y ones.
Seriously, a Mondeo estate with a reasonable engine will set you back about £30k here. That's nearly $50k, and there's no way USians will pay that.

All cars are more expensive in Europe. Americans do get the sedan version of this car, and they buy lots of them, so the financial argument doesn't really work as the wagon costs about as much as the sedan (and hatch in Europe).

Firstly, the estate costs a fair bit more - nearly 10% extra. Also, the 'regular' version they're getting has had to be stripped right down to build a US-spec version which can be sold for US-type prices.

In the Netherlands it's less than 5% extra for the old Mondeo wagon, and less than 3% for the Focus wagon over the hatch and sedan (which are identically priced). If they were to sell the Mondeo/Fusion wagon in the US I imagine it would be identically equipped as the US sedan, so I don't see why it would have to be a lot more expensive. Assuming they use an American built one obviously, not a EU built one with the likely uprated interior or whatever.

The percentage varies depending on where in the (UK) pricerange you measure it, because the actual amount stays about the same - a bit over £1k. On the cheapest ones, that's a bit under 10%, but not much.
I take your point, though, because I must have misread it before - I thought it was nearly double that. Still, with lower US prices, it would be a larger percentage.
And while I also take your point about the US-spec saloon/hatch being applicable to the Mondeo, I think there's a bit more to it than that. In the UK, at least, the Mondeo's seen as being quite a nice car - particularly in higher trim levels, with the bigger engines, and as the estate - and people are willing to pay near-premium prices for them. I don't see the same happening in the US, where they're viewed as cheap cars.
If Ford's stripping out whatever they can to keep prices down, offering the estate would essentially be a $2k option on a car that's already seen as a little pricey, so it wouldn't get many takers.
One thing that hadn't occurred to me before is that the US ones are being built in Mexico, but I don't think the Euro ones are. So presumably it's not worth the extra tooling costs at the Mexican plant.

Because of greedy jealous dealers that would rather sell the fattened-up Flex. That's also the same reason the C-Max is hybrid-only over here. No really, Ford did plan on selling all varieties of the C-Max, but dropped it at the last minute!

They are the dumbs.
There is no reason not to, aside from 'Muricans being stupid and not buying wagons, and having to meet asinine CAFE mileage requirements.

One cannot simply convert prices for different currencies.
The VW Golf is a prime example. If you used the price for it in the UK, ~25,000 Pounds, you'd have a $40,000+ car in the US.
But the Golf is still ~$25,000 in the US.
So if Ford sold us this majestic steed, it would still only be about $30,000.
You are correct that 'Muricans are cheap bastards who do not understand that sometimes one must pay for quality.
I blame Wal-Mart.

Ford hates us Americans. It is the same reason why they won't bring the 3 door hatches over here. I don't want a 5 door Fiesta/Focus ST, I want a 3 door Focus RS! Damnit!
