I dont understand any of the surprise that people seem to have — including announcers and some pundits. He's a former GP WINNER for pete's sake. He's not one of the greats, long way off, but he's easily in there for 8-9th best driver currently on the grid. That number doesn't really do him justice, it's only that low because the amount of talent in F1 this and recent past years is just absurd.
