I have mentioned here a few times that I want to build an Exocet. I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist for a donor car, but it is hit and miss. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! as a potential source for a low cost powertrain and suspension. Lots of cars with body damage that look like the powertrain is undamaged. Thoughts? Does 1+1=2 here? I don't mind that I will have a salvage title as I will be building a kit that has questionable resale value anyway.

Buying a salvage car from an insurance auction is the go to way to keep kit car costs down. I hadn't seen the exocet before, but it looks decent and cheap.
Another good kit car company is factory five. They mostly do Cobra replicas but they just came out with the 818 based upon a WRX. If you use a wrecked WRX you can build one for $15k if you're careful.

Hadn't seen the 818. Nice looking hotrod. I like the red, white and blue color scheme in the top pic. Kind of looks like the Nissan racing colors.
I was looking at the race chassis version of the Exocet for $7499 as I want the improved roll protection and I may want to do some racing with it.
