Only in death will we have our own names since only in death are we no longer part of the effort.
His name is Todd.
He is forty-eight years old.
He bought a Scion.
Scion, please fire your ad agency, they make the worst commercials.

I know, right? Fucking terrible ad.

Scion just isn't what it used to be.
I liked the old xA and xB, and the FRS would be awesome with a panoramic sunroof. The Matrix probably should've also been a Scion.

xA was god awful, xB was just weird and bought by old dudes.

Foreword: didn't watch the video, deal with it.
Is this a reference to their 'no negotiation' sales strategy? In which case 'the effort' is referring to the false feeling of winning that comes with talking a dealership down to a price that you feel is a good deal while they still make what they planned?
Maybe I've worked retail too long, but maybe I'm just a pedantic asshole, judges?

The reference is from Fight Club...

The xA ist an awesome fun lil car. Plenty of aftermarket support, good utility and gas mileage and Toyota reliability. The only real problem was no sunroof except the rare release series.
The xB is a fucking classic. The only things it needed were a sunroof and the JDM front bench seat. Awesome utility and visibility, so tossable, and all the other virtues of the xA. Very popular among small businesses since it makes a great advertising canvas and low operating costs.

Oh, I knew that... I was reading into it too deep, on the car company front. Retail sucks.
