Women are a lot like cars... When you get a brand new one, the ride is just fantastic and it smells great too. You show it off to your friends and post pictures of it, and the things you do together on Facebook. And taking it on a weekend trip is just awesome.

But cars gets old, saggy and requires more and more maintenance and at some point you have to consider the option of buying a new car.

Off course you can have multiple fun cars besides your daily driver, but that's a costly affair!

So the option is to either buy a new car or pimp you old ride... Pimping your old ride is probably the cheapest solution and there is a lot you can do... New headlights, a more compact rear bumper and most importantly, tighten the suspension.

And the car will look great with a little TLC, but be warned... No matter how much money you pump into it, it will still feel like that same old ride when you take it for a spin!

Now as I said at the top: When you get a brand new one, the ride is just fantastic and it smells great too. But if you're married to your old ride, the split can be heartbreaking and tough... Especially if it comes with a trailer or two...

I have always been a one car at a time kind of guy, you find the perfect one, you love it, cherish it, grow old with it, regardless of how bad it gets.. which is why I still own my first car an 1993 M800, (or atleast its still in the family).

Well, there is always the classics... They stop having that problem at some point. But the ride is awful and don't get me started on the upholstery!!!

I disagree. Women are like vacuum cleaners. At first their great, things are clean and tidy then over time they start to get a whinny noise, puts on weight as the bag gets full and it just stops sucking, by which time the cosmetic outer no longer looks like it used to and starts getting more costly to keep going.

Just saying. :)

I once actually wrote this wonderful, beautiful piece to someone I was talking to at the time about why cars are like people, specifically women. It was supposed to be just a silly text but it turned into this manifesto of man-machine connection. I may have gotten carried away. She said something to the effect of "that was honestly, beautiful. I'm going to save that." She didn't. I didn't. Had a fight, erased the whole conversation. To this day I wish I still had that one text. Women can leave you...your car never will.
