I have this one (below), in pink for my daughter, and I'm looking to get the same model for my son, sometimes looks are important, and a mismatched pair of boosters just would not do. Anyone happen to have a used one in more boy friendly colours?

My kids are still in the ProRide seats. Been pretty happy with them.

Haven't crash tested them yet.

Not sure if you travel by air much, but if you do check and see if the Recarros are aircraft rated. Yes this is a thing. We were looking 6 years ago when our sun was born and Recarro made a seat that perfectly matched the seats in our Evo, same materials and everything, but it was not aircraft rated. As we fly a ton this was a no go. Ended up with Britax.

If I remember correctly, however, the "aircraft" certification is kinda BS. I don't remember why, but it was a pretty pointless certification. This is what I heard from a professor who was (and still is) doing a bunch of work to build a better car seat.

No argument there, but if you get the wrong gate agent, and it is in company policy, it can still catch you out. I've seen them check.

I do fly, quite a bit, as I'm an aussie living in the US. We bought a couple of the lightest airplane approved seats we could and two collapsible hand carts from Costco, and we were all set, stroller and car seat all in one.

This next trip out we are going sans car seats, no boosters or nothing, so airplane rating isn't necessary

yeah, the stickers help, the manufacturer's sticker saying its good for planes is only good really in the USA, but then the airline insists on jamming their own stickers all over everything, totally worth it, on one of our flights out of Aus we got stopped, and the only thing that convinced them it was ok was all the various other airlines gate check stickers.

It is a beautiful thing when you can ditch the car seats on the plane. We went for the GoGoBabyz Travelmate for use with our Britax when we did need the seat. Worked like a champ for 5 years and recently died.
