As per above. Someone was complaining in California, it's so long that you could drive 12 hours and be in the same state. To drive east to west across Ontario on highway 17, it is approximately 1330 miles, or 23 hours by google maps.
My question to you Oppo. Is this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! the longest single jurisdiction east west highway in the world? I am thinking perhaps Kamchatka may have a similarly long highway, but I don't know for sure. Do you?

I think so, As a resident of Ontario, I've heard a lot about highway 17.

I've driven it end to end.

Are you asking just within a state or province?

I do not agree so much. You are spanning 2 Provinces according to your map. If you apply the same rule here, US 20 spans multi States and total distance is 3365 miles.

Oh. Well my map is supposed to be from the Ontario-QC Border to the Ontario MB border. I may have moed the indicator slightly too far east, on the QC border, so can subtract 1 km. If you are looking where the highway appears to cross into Quebec near North Bay, that's just a function of the map being zoomed out. The actual highway 17 is entirely located in ontario.

Yup. Single jurisdiction. State, province, region, oblast or similar.

Gotcha. Then yes, you can claim the longest. How long is the Trans-Canada highway? That has got to be a long MF too.

That's not even all of it, it goes all the way across Newfoundland also. I have driven it from Vancouver to Oromocto NB.

Highway 17 is the Ontario part of the trans canada. The southern (main) route of the Trans Canada is about 80 hours of driving end to end.

If its limited to two lane east west roads in North America, I'd buy that.
I-10 is still the longest freeway east and west in a single political subdivision in North America. Texas.
1414km, 880 miles approximately, from Anthony, TX to Louisiana. Fun fact: The Texas border towns are closer to LA and Jacksonville, FL than they are to each other.

I only included one interrupted ribbon of asphalt, Vancouver island is missing also.
