I'd still buy a McLaren Mp4-12c.

I'm with you on that. Although if the LFA was still for sale, that would give it a run for its money.
Or, I'd consider a used Alfa 8C.

Do you have any idea how many V6 Mustangs you could buy?!?!?!
Seriously though, I would buy many less expensive cars. I could probably buy 6 or 7 really awesome cars with that money. None would be a McLaren, though, so I see your point.

A phenomenal choice, no doubt, even if my pick would lie more towards the $kaycog end of the scale...
but I can't argue that the McLaren is a special thing.

Definitely agree under the circumstances that it must be spent on a single car that is brand new.
There are, however, plenty of other routes I'd take without those restrictions.

Exactly the same thing I was gonna say.

LFA in a heart beat. I don't care how fast it is/isnt. If i get to hear that engine every day...I would be a happy man.

Yep, same thought process as mine there. I would never listen to the radio in that car.

I would do the same, mainly because it's a very forgiving super car and I'm nowhere near a good a driver as I think I am.

I like the 12C better than many of the other new supercars, both in styling and in tech.
Looks head and shoulders better than the P1 in my opinion.

If I can only buy one, then yes, the Mp4-12c is the only answer.

If I had a half mil to spend on vehicles, I would buy everyone on Oppo a Spec Miata and a SCCA membership.
In return, you shall crown me your king.

If I had $500, 000 to spend, I'd buy an SLS, a Lotus Exige, 1 AP1 S2000, 1 AP2 S2000, and a salvage title AP1 S2000 to do crazy shit with. Maybe a full N/A tune and strip every useless material on the car to make it as light as possible. I can't imagine how much money I'd have left over after fuel, maintenance, insurance, and tires for everything...

Forgiving? Pfffff... who wants a forgiving supercar? I'll take something a little more reckless, thanks.

If I had $1/2 million to spend on a car, I wouldn't get just one car.

I, for one plan on owning a supercar for more than 15 minutes before I end up in a flaming wreck wrapped around a pole (but still smiling).
I would looooove to get my hands on a Cobra, it's always in the top 3 of my 'if I won the lottery' musings. However, I'd need a few thousand miles in the McLaren to get used to it before I dared hoon that thing.

I noticed you added the "but still smiling". Yeah you might end up dead, but it'd be a hellava ride!

F10 M5 loaded up, GT3 loaded up, fully restore the E28, use the rest to buy a used FF or a used F12 in a few years.

Title states, "If I had "$1/2 million to spend on A car" not multiple. I would get a Carrera GT.
