Stock these things tach out at like 50MPH. Maybe 60. They don't go very fast.

Im thinking they should be fun in the rough, dont need to do 50mph while rock climbing..

6.2s are not rapid, but they are stupid reliable for the most part and will easily return 20mpg. You take the good with the bad when it comes to malaise-era engines.

Well yeah, but I wouldn't want to DD the thing on the highway

CUCV program Blazer - has axles that are really hard to find over 15" wheels for, but otherwise a great vehicle. Yes, usually partly 24 volt, but the setup is half-assed, so (because it's diesel) very easy to convert. The original setup can accidentally fry parts of the glow system running on only 12 volts, so you'd likely find yourself doing it anyway.

Possible CP, at least a hash pipe...
CUCV's are dime a dozen, man...

Has Jersey cancer. I'd hate to see what's left of the frame.

Me neither, this would probably be the direct opposite of tracking a car, I always wanted to ford rivers(no pun intended) and drive on really rough and rutted tracks, the way 4x4 are actually meant to be driven..

I suspect he's at the F THIS stage from trying to sell at 6 and not getting any takers. Said diesel will make for a well over 20mpg Blazer, so....
Still a bit pricey counting rust, but not too bad overall - depending on what the fuel system's up to. May be about to need junking of the original filter setup, because leaks.

Then kinda sounds good doesn't it?

Not much I presume lol! but its a cool truck to drive I think.. although really slowly owing to the diesel engine..

True but tell me, when have you seen one on the local roads? most of these ex government vehicles leaving crown vics usually end up in the crusher..

There are at least two different CUCV's that are running around my neck of the woods on a regular basis. The gov't bought toogawddamnmany CUCV's in the 1980's while the HMMWV was in development (before it was fielded), so there are many thousands on DRMO lots. Many of them are in worse shape due to lot rot (under usage) rather than high mileage or abuse.

Yeah Im sure they are even scarce in my neck of the woods (North NJ), with all the salt on the roads, these were probably never made to last a very long time I guess..

M1009s kick ass. I would totally get one if I didn't already have the K5. If it's in good condition, NP for 3 grand.
