$3500 if the flame trap has been replaced recently and you gotta deal.

The only "word" that could make this more awesome would be: " R "

My mom has the 2001 2.4T, and in my opinion (and that of many other car reviewers), the low-pressure turbo is much better than the high-pressure in the T5. The low-pressure spools at 1800 and kicks in at 2000 flat, and with an idle speed of 1000rpm, you feel the burst of boost just a second after you press down. The T5 takes a longer time to spool in reality in spite of the small difference on paper. 2.4T=(197hp/5000, 210lbft/2000) // T5=(247hp/5200, 243lbft/2400).

Seems like a good deal except for the issues. Clutch has been replaced. Rear brakes have been completely replaced!? Boost pressure sensor replaced (turbo issues, maybe bypass valve issues)? Alternator and power steering pump?

Most of the other issues are normal; we have done them on our S60 (timing belt has been changed, temperature sensor replaced a few months ago) with ~115,000 miles on it. Control arm bushings seem weird, too, but are a plausible issue since we are breaking engine mounts like crazy. Last year, we had to change 2 of the 6 engine mounts, and last month we found out we need to change 3 more.

We have all our work done by a really friendly local shop run by a Spanish guy (from Spain). He gets a lot of foreign cars and specializes in BMW, Porsche, Audi, Volvo, and Mercedes. As he says, he'll "fix anything from Fords to Ferraris."
