Fantastic last few laps

Thanks for something to watch with my coffee this morning! That was a good watch. I love watching real cars race and seeing the weight transfer when they pitch them in hard.

That was kickass.
I wonder if I could enter a Jag XK into that series...

That specific class is for Mustangs, Firebirds, and Camaros, but an XK would slot easily into one of the Production or Touring classes.
The diversity of entrants has always been a hallmark of SCCA racing. At one point many years back they were running a class that was essentially Showroom Stock cars on slicks; STIs competing with M3s competing with Mustangs competing with lord remembers whatever else. It made for spectacular racing.

"Showroom Stock cars on slicks"
I want this please.
Also, the diversity of entrants is one of the things I feel is missing from racing in the UK. There are tons of specific racing series for MR2s, German cars, Japanese cars, Renault Clios etc., but not really anything I can think of where they all race together.
I'd love something Chumpcar-like where people enter a whole variety of cheap cars to race against each other, although a bigger budget than £500 might be needed to get more variety in.

I'm trying to track down some footage of that stuff, but this was 10 years ago now and I can't even remember what the class was called. It was as glorious as it sounds, though.
Something above Chumpcar/LeMons but below the price of traditional racing would be nice. We have B Spec going over here with essentially stock Fiestas, Coopers, 500s, and Fits, which may be the cheapest way to go racing on a professional level here, but it doesn't get the blood pumping the way that something with a little more oomph would.

Here's the T2 race from 2005 that I believe I've been thinking of. Plenty of diversity, and as I remembered, basically stock with some minor suspension tweaks and slicks, plus lots of amateruish decision making.

You're right about the decision making. Just the first minute is enough to convince me of that :)
Looks great fun though.

This is like a Forza A-Class race without all the lagging and crashing.

cadillacs too

you do know that's the name of the class right? just checking, since sarcasm and the internet aren't friends.

Yeah, I was being facetious. I don't see the reasoning for calling it A Sedan (American Sedan) class, if none of the entries have four doors.

Good point!
