"Slant6" (slant-6)

Changed the oil, washed her, plastidipped the grill on saturday, and topped off each tire with air. I love my car.
She would be pure bred Jalop if she was brown and RWD and diesel (still, manual and wagon has to count for something) Love her all the same.
I also saw an older 3 serries today. I want to learn the BMW model numbers. What is this one? (it had a stick)

I have thought about doing my grille. It is honeycomb black and kind of faded. How did yours come out?

That 3er is an E30. It's only the 4-cylinder, though - "318i" = 3-series, 1.8-liter, and fuel injected.
Nice to see a manual 9-5 wagon!

Sweet car! Love the grille! My Saab 9000 Aero says hi! (Going to try and post from my phone, so I don't know if it'll work)

The fact that it's a SAAB wagon makes it extra Jalop, and if it has a turbo you can pretty much leave the diesel.
That's an E30 3 series.

You tell me.
I think it looks natural. The chrome looked weird. It was the only chrome on the front of the car and it stuck out. I also blacked out the rear badges. Chrome belongs on cars before 1970.

It's a sign. Keep the 9000!

Last I checked the 328 didn't have a 2.8 liter engine. Same for the 335, which I think is a 3L straight six.

She has a turbo but it's a very tiny turbo. Clarkson called it a "ballet slipper" when he reviewed the 9-5 in 1998. It does help though.

Trust me, I want to! I just found it, it's my dad's. I'm way to young to drive. He was just saying how he has mixed feelings about selling it. Problem is, we have a 1982 mustang (all stock) and it's stored for the winter. The Saab would rust if he uses it for the winter. I live in CT. We have a 3 car garage, my moms car, my brother, 190e30's car, the 'stang, and the Saab. If we store the Saab then it would have to be outside, and my dad still wouldn't have a winter car! When I say store the cars I mean put them in our garage for the winter.

I know what you mean by storing cars, I was born in New Jersey. I stored my Dodge in a garage there from when I was born till 2010 (I inherited the car as a newborn).
I understand with the Saab though. You don't want to see it die but you also don't want to see it go. Would it rust if you didn't take it out on the roads and just covered it for the winter months? If it didn't touch the salt what would make it rust?

Like covering it with a cover and tarp for the winter in the corner of the driveway?

yeah. It's not ideal but you don't have the space for it and it won't rust much if any.

Maybe, we'll see. It'll probably go up for sale again and maybe one time more and if it doesn't sell I think he'll find a way to keep it!

If I wasn't a high schooler that works as a YMCA counselor I would buy it. It looks clean and it's a stick. I could bring it down here to North Carolina where rust only affects rail road spikes.
Now that I think of it, my Saab is originally a CT car. The previous owner's dad was the original owner and they bought it from his estate when he died. He lived in CT and had a 9000 and a 900 before he bought a new 2000 9-5 wagon. Maybe your 9000 is the one that he owned before he bought my 9-5. Probably not but it would be cool. Ill ask them this week, their my neighbors. I saw a picture of it once, it was white.

It's always good to see someone taking good care of a 1st-run 9-5!
This makes me miss my old 2000 Aero 5mt sedan.
I'm getting a little misty-eyed already

They only made 103 cirrus white saab 9000 aeros so its possible! There were about 65 from 93 though. They only made white in 93 and 94. The thing is that they're such good cruisers and highway cars, which is probably why they all have such high mileage. When I saw this one for sale with about 87,xxx I was so excited.
