I feel like the spikes kind of do the opposite of what you want happening.

The spikes are to keep debris from going up into the windshield. The debris strikes the bottom of the .... Oh, shit. That's right. This is all for FUN.

Since when is "fun" a good excuse for terrible ideas?

first off, I was joking with the last comment, way to go. Secondly if you put something in front of a vehicle to deflect debris, it should deflect it, not catch it. I am at work and tired. this is dumb. Grumble grumble grumble

If I've collected it I can remove it from the roadway so that no one else can hit it.

So, it's like a car bra, but missing the top, is lower, stiff, and with spikes.

Needs much longer spikes and one in the center that is self scraping (so you do not have to get out). Those small spikes would just piss zombies / bikers / pedestrians off.
