Reminder: Cold season is starting, and cows seek shelter on cars. Do not forget to give a few taps on the hood to get the cow off the hood before starting your car.

If the engine starting doesn't scare it out of there why would a knock?

If they are inside of the engine compartment the engine starting may scare them, and also mangle them.

Stupid outside cats in my neighborhood like to leave scratches, fur, and muddy pawprints all over my cars. I catch a cat on my car too many times, the little cups of antifreeze will have to start going out.

Every time I see this I cringe. Tap my hood? They are advising me to touch my car WITH MY FINGERS!?? I'm really glad it doesn't get cold here, because the only time I touch my paint with my fingers is when I'm applying wax.
I also don't think a cat could actually fit in my engine bay anyways, the engine barely fits. You have to take a few things off to even get to the oil filter.
