A thank you to the Veteran's and Active Military out there with a Red White and (I'm pretty sure) Blue Mercury Cyclone Spoiler!

love those giant fastbacks, but you knew that already :]

YUP.
I love them in fastback, but I really do like my "Formal roof" on my Coupe. It gives such clean lines for a big 60's car and still doesn't have a B pillar post. Wide open with the windows down.

that's true. Damn, just had a flashback of doing a set of rear window regulators on a 69 Fairlane fastback... sooooo much blood lol :] Love them clean coupes also.

LOL
Thankfully the rear windows are nice and smooth. Front driver is giving me some issues though. I always drive it with the front windows down though, so I may just take out the glass if it keeps up.

Is that..... Is that a Superbird Convertible?

I do that to everyone LOL you're not alone.
Amazing what you can get for cheap if you don't look for the perfect big name car, like if you skip Chargers and Chevelles you can get some great deals.
This is my 68 Montego on the day I bought it for $2500 (and spun the tires on the way home).
I forget how far it's come under the hood sometimes lol.

Yes it is, I don't think that's legit though. I think someone made a Superbird clone...but used a convertible.

Thank you!
Do to your surprise in the look of it here's some details and updates, because I think you've missed them lol.
1968 Mercury Montego MX Cyclone Package. 302 Ford V8 C4 Auto Trans. Even came with the original window sticker from the dealership in 1968. It was a 2 barrel carb but is now upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake and a 4 barrel Holley. I also added on True Dual Super 44 Flowmasters. They sound glorious, youtube clip at the bottom. Huge power gains, it's unbelievable what 3 pieces to the puzzle will do for power on this little 302. It hauls ass.

damn dude, she's a beaut and sounds great. I need a beast DD like this, the temptation is a biatch lol.

Well thank you, definitely NOT a DD though.
This is the fun car. It won't leave the garage again until April or May. I don't winterize though, I go out and start it once ever week-week and a half. Piss off the neighbors and rev it up to get it going good and warm lol (i don't like my neighbors so I couldn't care less).
The exhaust I just got put on this summer and I'm in love with it. Unbelievable that these 44's are cheaper than the 40's...and louder. I can only guess that there is less insulation and stuff in there. they are just under the legal limit in Michigan for decibel ratings, which I checked on before I got them installed. The rating is 92 from 100 feet away. I come in at 84 based off the free app on my phone lol. I've seen a video from Flowmaster with these mufflers in full 3 inch at 114 decibels on a big block chevy! Nuts!

oh ok i understand, yeah i'd keep her put away also. It doesn't really get cold here on the Texas Gulf Coast lol. One day i'll post my contribution to the 60's beasts

Yeah up here in the Detroit area we put our 60's monsters in the garage for the winter!
I recommend when you go looking to look at Ford and Mercury. They had some truly awesome muscle cars and they are often forgotten. Because they are forgotten they tend to be less expensive to buy despite crazy parts availability. Especially with the Windsor motors - 289, 302, 351W because they all have interchangable parts. Want a crazy 289? throw some 351W heads a nice intake and a big carb on it!
Anyhow, you can always find Torino's, Galaxies, Fairlanes, and sometimes a Montego with big fun motors and great setups for a hell of a lot cheaper than a Chevelle or a Charger ya know?
