My grand-dad was on a tin can early in Korea before he got assigned some work on the ground - the name escapes me. His father-in-law was on the Saratoga, and his brother-in-law (my great-uncle) served in Korea in tanks. Of my grand-dad's three brothers, one went island-hopping, and I think two went to Europe, one of which was captured for a short period. All brothers survived the war, but only one's still alive.

My grandpa was a tank commander in the 1st Armored Division in North Africa and Italy through Anzio. He joined when he was 16.
My dad was on a few tin cans in the Pacific starting in '76.
