Way better then the RX-8s. Those things I dislike and you can pick them up used fairly cheap.
Any one care to explain why? Are they just crap?

I am not really familiar with all the issues with the RX-8 but I do know that part of it is due to the nature of the rotary engine. Due to the power cycle they are not really known for reliability as they get older maintenance can add up.

The FD3S is the odd one out on my favorite car list. The 99 spec and above easily make it as my number 3 and the only one in my top five from Japan. I want one so badly and I just can't justify it other than, "look at it." My plan one day is to buy one that's been used up a bit, and bring it back to form as a 99 spec or even spirit R replica.

You know what makes the RX8 great? With the manual they come to just a touch over 3000lbs. Strip the interior, v8 swap it, and you end up with a pretty sweet little car. Can probably pick one up for about $2500, and the engine for about $3k. Other odds and ends, and for less than $10k you end up with a pretty quick little car that isn't necessarily bad looking.
