Since Malaysia is the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . There is some mainstream media made a comment that Jalopnik made a bias review since the Toyobaru twins is consider as a niche UBER SPORTSCARZ in Malaysia. I say it's a bunch of BS. they say that this piece of crap is the cheapest in all South East Asian region. Okay let's see the car specs -

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

- 660cc Toyota sourced EF-VE DOHC with 47 BHP/ 43lb ft

- No airbags

- Questionable build quality

- the only thing that's great about this car is it's available in manual transmission

-Sold around $8,000

Would you guys consider this car if it's for sale in your country? I'm not messing with anyone. I just hate to see people compare apples with oranges

1L engine, i don't know how many hp produced but it's quite good, and get a massive mileage. Plus it's a proper car.

7.6k for the base model.

I'm a big guy, 6'2" and not too light. The only way I'm buying a car with under a hundred horsepower is if it is so incredibly gorgeous that I won't mind driving slowly. And it'd still probably have to be British.

...like this one.

What does this have to do with Toyobaru?

No and never. First off, not a RWD coupe.

Second and more realistic, if I was that desperate to get a great deal on a cheap car, I would just buy a used Civic. Because its actually a car, you know with an engine and air bags. It would probably last longer used than that thing new anyways.

The BRZ is a niche uber sportscar in Malaysia? Well what the fuck is this over there, then? A goddamn unicorn?

Ow! I feel your pain. Not that I'm driving anything awesome over here Stateside...just a rapidly-wearing-out Ford Taurus, but at least I've got reasonable choices when it finally gives up the ghost. Sorry to hear about the market in Malaysia.

It's a unicorn alright. Even a SLS AMG cost $600,000.

Malaysian Automotive Ministry experts says its unfair > claiming not fair comparing the Toyobaru twins because it's a high-end sportcars > put this Perodua Viva to compare the cheapest car in all South East Asia.

In all actuality, I did buy this for 9k almost a year ago. While it won't last as long, its A LOT better than one of these cars IMO.

No reason to cry, its still an actual car. I would take that 10 out 10 times compared to Diahatsu or whatever.

Ok, I see what youre saying. I thought you were talking about a Jalopnik article comparing the two. The linked article is in fact total BS. As for the original question, I would NOT buy that car. It is half the price of a decent new car here in the US though.

It is cheap. but lacked many safety features making it a death-trap.
