I was finally done paying my tools. I was free! All that was left to pay was my toolbox which pays itself each week. As I leave with some other tools that I needed, he says "Hey, I got this nice toolbox in my warehouse. Look at this baby." and shows me a white toolbox like this but with no decals/stickers, no stainless steel top, 8 inches longer and no Snap-on plates on the bottom like shown there.
A Snap-On Epiq 68" special edition as he said, because of the black strips instead of the chrome. As I am drooling in my head...I asked how much is it with a hesitant tone. He says 10695$ BUT minus 2700$ because it's was a demo model, minus another 2800$ if I exchange it with my toolbox and minus 1000$ because of a snap-on rebate. With the taxes it goes down to 4972.95$ and with the money I still owed on the current toolbox it goes up to 7161.68$. I was like hum...that's not bad, not bad at all. With the Snap-On credit...it goes to 9108.32$ or 87.58$/week for 2 yrs. It's still in my price range and I do need a bit more space now. If I buy this, this is the last toolbox i'll get definitely and it's my dream color too! I give myself 2 weeks to say yes or no, but I'm leaning toward yes. I'll deal with him so that he gives me a full toolbox cover with it and maybe a stainless steel work surface both for free.

Haha, same here. In a direct conversion, this toolbox would cost something around 20 thousand reais, and most I was ever offered for my Tipo was 12 thousand. I couldn't afford one of these if I sold my damn car!

The name, the design, the robustness, the prestige you get. This is the Bugatti of toolboxes. + I got a shitload of tools and I need the space.

Yeah, my dad runs a resto-mod shop here in town. He's got a couple big work bench/chest combos that could pay for a sizeable chunk of what remains of the mortgage on my home lol!
It helps streamline the workflow when kept tidy,
and time is money.
I got a cheapo 5 drawer harbor freight tool chest this last year because I got fed up with losing track of stuff or having to spend 30 minutes just tracking stuff down. Makes things easier when my wife is breathing down my neck lol!

It's Snap-On, the preferred choice for people that like to change the oil on their Mercedes themselves.
Or, if you have a rotary powered car, you will be using those tools a lot so you may as well get the best.

Why would anyone waste there money on a snap on tool box. Are you really that concered with a metal box you put things into?

A top of the line box the same size as this one from most other brands would be maybe 3grand less. Some people believe snapon is magical.

I'm more of a Matco guy, but my expensive tool buying days are done... That is a nice box though. I see why some people don't understand why the Snapon or Matco boxes are ridiculous in price, but when you work in a shop and use the box every day and it is home to $20,000+ in tools, you need a secure storage unit that will last your life time. Try using a craftsman box in a shop and it will last a year maybe more if you are lucky.
The tool trucks were so much fun to go onto just to see what new goodies they were selling. Oh and to also get a lifetimes supply of pocket screwdrivers.

I actually never heard of Matco. The most popular brand we have here are Snap-On or our home brand Rousseau. But being able to pay weekly changes everything. That's why I keep going with Snap-on. Good to know that someone understands hahaha!

Go see Squid post. I got tired real quick of my old toolbox falling apart in less than a year.

I forgot you live in Americas hat. . . Yeah Matco, Cornwell, Mac and Snap-on down here. All are quality tools that will stand up to use day in and day out. All of them are equivalent in quality in my opinion an it really comes down to which name you like more as all prices are equally expensive. But the being able to pay weekly was nice for when I got my tools. Hopefully you enjoy your box and know that it will be able to be passed down for generations.

I'm not sure yet. I still gotta see it face to face and I wanna see the other options I have. I know someone who has a Epiq 68 like the one shown in grey. It's huge! I'm not even sure I can push it properly in the garage truck to truck. But boy it's sexy! If there was a frozen grey or a silk matte red edition, I would blindly buy it head on.

Hahaha, the big boxes are all right to push around, as long as you are on a polished concrete floor. pushing one around on anything rough wouldn't be fun and would probably tear up those nice casters they use. Pretty much the hardest part about pushing them is getting them going, they have engineered them to be good at being pushed around. I knew a guy who had a Snap-on box from the 70's that was two chests stacked and a whole other side locker chest hanging off one side. That motherfucker was heavy and hard to push around but the box had survived 40 years of daily use.

I don't think i'll pull the trigger. If the white is not pearl white, then forget about it. I've seen more pics on the web and if I'm gonna pay that much, I want something really special that will stop me from trying to wrap it.
