It's not for sale; I asked. They also wouldn't let me drive it. :(
Only 56,000 miles and some change; absolutely mint interior as well.

I was gonna say... Employee discount!
I work at a BMW dealership and awhile ago we had an E28 M5 with 75,xxx miles on it for sale and with employee pricing I could have bought it for like 11k... Missed that chance.

83 or 84? Looks great either way, to bad the Rabbit GTi didn't have the same engine as "our" version.

84, he said. I wouldn't know the differences, personally.

Yep; it has MI plates too; apparently it's a show car for VW's trade in/trade up program.
As if anyone with a car like this with only 56000 miles would get rid of it. Pfft. I'd trade my 2013 for it if they'd let me...

Thanks! I find out Monday - it's down to me and one other guy. I bought my 2013 GTI here, so I'm hoping that counts for something, haha.

Hot damn! That's a tragedy.
I applied at a BMW dealership, but with no experience they weren't very responsive. :/
I will be nearby there for cars and coffee tomorrow, though, so I may dress professionally and just swing by and remind them how badly I want to work with cars on my way home...

Yeah I started there the day I turned 18 and kinda worked my way up to working in the shop which is nice.

Awesome.
I'll be in sales if I get the job; I don't know enough to get into their mechanic/certified tech program, unfortunately.

i had those rims on my 85 cabrio, my first car. dad had painted them a nice candy apple red on the inset to match the orangeish/sun-faded-red. i miss my cabrio even if it didn't have the ooompph of this VW.
