And not just mentally, thanks for pointing that out.
Herniated disks FTW! Two days off of pain and Prednisone, followed up by 50 works days of 'modified work' and yet another trip to the doc next Friday.
As for the Prednisone? Ooh, steroids? Yes please?
Quoth the Chirurgeon: You may experience mood swings and irritability.
So...just your average Thursday.

Careful with that Prednisone, I'm non violent as a rule but when I take Prednisone, it makes me really angry and aggressive.

Oh god, I hate steroids! When I had my sinus infection a couple months ago I had them. Everything pissed me off!

Prednisone had me completely wired for the first few days. I couldn't sit still to save my life. I'd wake up at 5am to do a 2 hour workout. Spend the next 8-10 hours at the office, come home and clean EVERY THING. Then, sit up til 1AM looking for something to do. Only to go to sleep and be back up at 5am again.
I did however make my back feel 100% better.

Yeah it made me jittery and hyper as well but that wasn't as bothersome as the rage I felt.

There was definitely a level of irritability but I assumed that it was just from the jitters and lack of sleep... Glad the rage didn't hit me cause I probably would have ended up behind bars.

Yeah, it effects everyone differently. I can remember my mom telling me that it put her to sleep and I couldn't believe it.

It's a good thing I am off until Monday- as a still recovering alcoholic ( four years, three months and four days dry, bitches!), I still have moments where I want to set things on fire for absolutely stupid reasons, so not being around people is a good thing.

So far no rage (as of Friday morning), but sleepy as all hell, and grumpier with a five-year-old boy's attempt at making a fort than I should be.
Mind you, that fort was between the kitchen and the stairs from my space in the basement, and NO-ONE blocks my access to caffeine.

Sounds like things are going ok for you. Just remember if the rage hits to remove yourself from the situation. I had thoughts run through my head that were pretty scary so I did the best I could to warn everyone and isolate myself. Good luck, stay strong brother.

Thanks for the encouragement! I managed to extricate myself as soon as I felt myself going into grump mode so I didn't go any further.
Coffee helps too!
