I love the 2nd gen xB. And if they ever made a TRD or some other performance version with 200+hp and a 6-speed, I would be so down.

Yeah, but do you like it more than the first-gen?

The good news is that 200+ hp is easy to do on that engine, and there is plenty of aftermarket support. But yeah, an xB XRS would be awesome. I'm surprised Toyota hasn't offered performance version Scions! But maybe that'll change if there is a Scion-branded version of the BRZ STI.

I hate the first gen. It's so horrifically awkward to look at.

Opinions and assholes and what not BUT

I have way too much experience riding in/driving a 2nd Gen xB. I despise it.

It is slow, the front wheels MIGHT be connected to the steering but they may also be connected to a plate of steamed broccoli. It is impossible to tell. My Jeep Grand Cherokee with 230k miles and worn out steering components has way more feel than that.

The accelerator an brake are so twitchy that if you whisper a trifle too loudly at them, your head will be thrown into the back of the seat.

The visibility is comparable to that of a Hummer H2 or the common submarine. The gas mileage is actually pretty shitty. Figure around 25-27mpg in mixed driving.

The 4spd auto only wants to go to 4th gear and nothing lower. If you use the "manual" shift mode it will take eons to actually shift and will upshift before the redline.

The water pumps are prone to early failure.

The seats are horrifically flat and uncomfortable. The interior plastics make a Cavalier feel like a Cadillac.

The engine does not make nice noises. The only noises it makes are sad and lonely and just drone on.

Also, they never came with a 6spd. 5spd manual only.

They are roomy, yes, but actually have LESS room than the 1st gen despite being 12in longer

They are everything I hate in a car.
