The new Nexus5 is basically a spec-for-spec parallel G2, only the N5 is running stock android with a less MP camera (N5 has an 8mp where as the G2 has 13mp i think).

Root the G2, give it CM10.2 (android 4.3) and you have a killer phone.

Yep.
I play one of these in my office (I work for some kind of Indonesian Cellphone Operator, so i always able to play with one of these in the office), and i kinda like it. And the camera is just jaw-droppingly gorgeous!

But if i want an android cameraphone, i'll buy Xperia Z1.

I dunno, I assumed. My S3 just got pushed a stable snapshot of 10.2. Even still, 10.2 isn't noticeably different from 10.1

Same, that's why I haven't upgraded to the snapshot. A true stable release can't be far off. Then in 3 months Kitkat lol. Next phone will be a Nexus or at least a Google Edition.

What's wrong with Verizon (I'm in Canada so all providers are equally shitty with equally shitty '4G')?

Nothing from my provider is left on my phone except for their Self Serve app which is more of just a link to their mobile site to access my account info. I froze or deleted all the bloatware and uselessness with Titanium.
Cyanogenmod is as close as I can get to vanilla Android and updates are about a year ahead of my carrier (Bell) pushing them OTA to customers. When I was running TouchWiz I would just use AT&T updates since they are compatible and came out months earlier

verizon does not get the stock android phones anymore. they got skipped on the nexus 4 and the latest 5.

so unless i switch carriers, i'm stuck with what selection they have.
