Meet Sumthaiguy and his infamous 2008.5 Mazdaspeed 3. The guy went through 3 oil pans and 4 wheel changes as of 2011. Throwing money to the window at each pothole and cracks on the pavement if you ask me. There was even a video shoot (can't find it) where you see him get out of his driveway and bust his oil pan. He was driving and putting liters of oil after a few kilometers each time if I remember. SMDH.

I had a bad power steering leak, and had to do the same thing. Drive a mile, pull over, dump more ATF in the reservoir, and so on in that fashion. Don't hate, tow trucks are expensive. Good times.

That's something else. Even I can relate...but him, no. You've busted 3 oil pans because of that ridiculous stance! He just won't learn.

Car makers should just make a "stance edition" for these guys. Same car, no suspension.

Yeah. I'm pretty open minded about everything car-related. I used to be in to slammed show trucks, so I can't talk shit about anybody's tastes. I even kind of dig a lot of the stance stuff. But damn homeboy, invest in a sheet of plywood. Or just park on the street.

Umm, how 'bout a skid plate? I'm not into modifying a vehicle past the point of practicality, but if I was going to do something that extreme, I'd consider shoring some stuff up.

My exact thoughts! Mini truckers do it, why not the stance players? At least they wouldn't look like money throwers to my eyes.

I wanted to have a slammed mini truck back in the day ha! But you know, if theses stance guys wanna go that low, at least make sure nothing rubs and that the underbody is completely covered with a thick metal sheet. When I look at that MS3, I just wanna save it.

Because stancers really don't know shit about cars or how they work. If they did, they wouldn't ruin their cars because of a fad.

I got nothing against really lowered vehicles, but do it the smart way with hydraulic or pneumatic systems so you don't have to worry about tearing off parts just getting out of the driveway. Ricky Ricers will be idiots forever, I guess.

Yeah, I feel ya. Speed3s are aaaaaalmost rare enough where it's cool to get upset about ruining one.
This is of course ignoring the fact that nobody buys them even though it's a practical dedicated performance car that starts under 25 grand. I've never been in one, so I can't say if it's good or not. Just an observation.

Actually quite many stanced cars have skid plates.

It’s not just about the lowered suspension, though. Like you, I’ve got no general issue with lowered cars. It’s the super negative camber they put on their wheels so they tuck behind the wheel arches at the top and only make contact with the road on their inner edge, and the stupid ‘stretched tires’ where they jam small tires onto massive rims so the rims stick out several inches from the lip of the rubber. Absolutely stupid, unsafe and a complete waste of money for something that doesn’t even look remotely cool.

funny, I didn’t see anything in the article that invited you to air your ignorant opinions on body modification
