I washed it off 4 days ago and it was looking great. Now it is covered in all kinds of mud/snow/road crap mix. The woes of owning a black car I guess. All the lines down the side are fairly solid though, which is interesting.
Sitting there I also realized that I want to get some new tires and then wheels/tires in the summer. Hopefully these wheels are still good, the tires always leak every couple days to near flat. I am going to snag some probably new winter tires, hopefully 195/60?65?/R16 for these. Come winter summer I want to fins something nice and put some 215or225/45or50/R17's? I want something for a tire that will work well in mostly pavement but a good amount of dirt roads as well. For wheels I want to stick with something fairly stock, BBS subaru wheels most likely, so I think there may not be any R16's that go quite as wide as I would like.

At least it's a WRX. While dirt looks bad on other cars, on a Subaru it just builds character.

But road grime is a prime proponent of car cancer. At least it does in New York, maybe out here in Utah it doesn't since they don't use salt. That would/probably is Awesome!

Much often.
Northeast resident here. I wash by hand about once a month in the spring and summer. During the winter, I will take it through a drive through that has the underspray feature quite frequently.

"the tires always leak every couple days to near flat".
Clean the bead area of the wheel. That is many times the problem.

Where are you? This is my first winter in Western a South Dakota, my black BMW is looking the part. Between the snow/dirt slush and grime, there are lots of roads made of soft red dirt - much worse.

I will definitely be asking the people installing my winters if they can do that since it is a bit easier with the tire off the wheel I would assume. Probably from too many rocks skidding sideways in the dirt.

Usually I see people size down for winter tires, why do you want bigger?

Well because I fucked up and put winter twice instead of putting summer the second time. current tires are 205/55/R16. Smaller ones in post for winter larger for summer

Better check. They use it in various concentrations in most western states. Where I
live , the state DOT uses it on Interstates and state highways that are prone to snow buildup. It is a very mild dose mixed with sand and cinders, but still salt. Your windshield looks and door panels look like salt residue to me. When in doubt, taste it.
