.........that I can get along with.
That also applies to people who think the remake was anything other than a bastardized shit show.
Anyway, cheers.

Yeah, two words about the remake should tell the thoughtful person everything they need to know to judge the movie: Nicholas Cage.

Come on. It was one of my better roles. Which I guess isn't saying much. Moving along.

OH GAWDDAMMIT!
You see how traumatizing watching Cage bastardize a classic movie? It effects your memory of other classic movies!

I grew up watching the Italian Job, it would be on almost every christmas as television filler over the festive period. The remake was pretty much your typical remake, so wasn't really a let down in that regard. If you hadn't seen the first, then the second was an okay film. I suppose the UK and the US have rather different ways of executing a film for there particular audiance.

This one had people who should know better, but did it anyway.

I was first exposed to it way back in the foreign year of 1999. My life's not been the same.

It is a British tv classic. Like The Saint (brutally murdered by the remake), The Avengers, The Sweeney, The Champions, the list is endless. So much has been lost for the sake of money, making louder bangs, more destructive car chases and killing, the actual story isn't carried across anymore, it's merely a pretext for the loud and explosive bits.
