Not only are the wheels, the wing, the diffuser, the writing ugly, but this guy decides to go ahead and ruin the handling as well?

I saw that review, and I can't say I fully believe Matt. It can't be as good as conventional suspension set ups with springs and dampers. It just can't!!!

I agree. This is pretty low (pun intended)! One would have to see that it was grounded to the ground well enough stock, and have Merci(elago) on the handling characteristics!

Full disclosure.... My friend has an A3 on bags and he hasnt noticed any negative implication to handling. i somewhat believe him, considering his driving nature and lack of a crashed car.
His only mention of a quirk was at highway his girlfriend couldnt do her makup cause the car kept bouncing slightly. Though, i believe he fixed that after some adjustments.
you do know they arent just bags sitting on top of an axle right? when you put them on cars like these they are a bit more complex and well thought out. iirc, some even have springs within the unit itself.

Now that I remember this was when Jalopnik was at its best; the website actually worked instead of getting kinja'd every 5 seconds and Ralph Gilles was busy saying that Donald Trump was full of shit...the memories...

I knew they had some way to connect the wheels to the bags, but that was the extent of my knowledge. I just feel that if they offered performance as other suspension set ups, then why wouldn't more manufactures use them(like in supercars). Not only do they offer ride adjustability but you get the same performance and possibly a better ride.

I wasn't there, but I have heard about its glory. Everything is really Kinja'd now, though.

I guess its just my eyes, this looks sooo fake to me I but I can't find exactly why. the perspectives and sizes of everything look so off.

I agree, but it was in a stanceworks feature. On my phone now, but you can find it if you look up hellaflush Lamborghini or something along odthose lines. It does look off, now that you mention it.

They ruined the exquisite balance of that sloppily-welded square-tube chassis!
No one buys a Murcielago to clip apexes. They buy one because it looks/sounds/is awesome. For certain definitions of awesome, this is exactly right.

Cost is usually a biggie. Plus you have to have an onboard air supply and in a car built for speed and lightness, its a lot of extra weight at the moment.
Cause if you have to put the air tank in the trunk (hood) of the lambo, then you have absolutely no room at all for anything besides what fits in the cabin.
And youre starting to see supercars come with suspension settings. If that isnt a hint to ride height adjustment, then i dont know what is. Give it time and we might see bags being factory installed on performance oriented cars.

Now I know some supercars use electromagnetic suspesnion(Ferrari, Corvette), which means it can be soft and hard depending on the setting. Mclaren also uses computers to adjust the spring rates, which means it can have an extremely smooth ride, but at the same time be track car hard. You also have to remember that airbags have a linear progession of spring rates, meaning that the more roll you have the tenser it becomes, which isn't quite like springs which have a fixed rate. This might be a reason some people don't use it. It also has a higher chance of breaking.
