Kinja, Why are some pictures clickable and some not?

On the oppo front page, some pictures are clickable and are linked to the post. Some aren't. Why aren't all of them hyperlinked? Hasn't anyone else noticed it? Pictures are bigger than headline text and I prefer clicking on them instead.

What i have noticed is that some pictures magically appear Gigantic and take the space of like 4 posts. Some of my posts magically turn big like that so i guess it isnt people who do it.

If you "own" a blog, you can click in the top corner and star a picture that will embiggen it.
